The pebbly beach is found at a distance of some 15 km southwestern to the capital of the island. It is situated at the southwestern coast of the island, in front of Pythagorio Town and beside its port.

Pythagorio is built over the ancient city of Samos, so there have been found many archaeological findings.

Access to Pythagorio: Access from the town of Samos is very easy by public buses, by taxi and by private means (car and motorbikes).

Access to Samos:

Arrival by Airplane: The airport of Samos Island is located 3 km from Pythagorion, on the southern side of the island. It serves domestic flights to Athens and Thessaloniki all year round. The flight time from Athens and Thessaloniki to Samos is 45 minuts. In summer, it also serves charter flights from abroad and there is air connection with other Greek islands, such as Kos, Rhodes, Chios, Lesvos and Crete.

Arrival by Ferry/Boat: Samos is connected by boat and high speed boat with the port of Piraeus, the largest port of Athens. The conventional boat trip lasts about 12 hours (the boat stops at various islands in between). The high speed boat trip lasts 6 to 8 hours. Moreover, Samos is connected by boat to Kavala, Northern Greece, and many Aegean islands: Chios, Lesvos, Syros, Tinos, Mykonos, Paros, Ikaria, Fourni, Patmos, Kos, Leros, and Kalymnos. It is also connected by boat to Kousandasi in Turkey. Samos has two main ports, Vathy and Karlovassi, while in summer another port, Pythagorion, also operates.

Local Transportation:

Bus: Samos is a big island with a quite well organized network of public transportation means. There are buses that connect Vathy and Karlovasi to most of the beaches and to the biggest island’s villages. There are also monthly bus cards available with a discount of 30%, whereas the local buses’ company organizes special tours upon request.

Taxi: Taxis are available at multiple spots on the island. 

Boat: Samos has some amazing isolated beaches, especially on the western coast of the island, which are accessible only by boat. Boats trip services are available at Karlovasi.
