Pori is considered by many to be the most beautiful one on the island. Sandy, located at the lip of a large cove, which ensures calm water most of the time. There you will also see a lot of coves and rock formations.  Very often, kitesurfers who are in Paros Island for vacations visit Pori to get photographed in its beautiful water.

Access to Pori:

Northeast of Upper Koufonisi is Pori, 3,5 km from Chora.

Access to Upper Koufonisi:

Arrival by Airplane: Koufonisi does not have airport. The closest airport is located at Naxos Island, with which Koufonisi is connected by boat.

Arrival by Ferry/Boat: Koufonisi is accessible from the harbors of Rafina and Piraeus. The journey usually lasts 4-5 hours. There are daily transports in the summer, twice a week in wintertime. Koufonisi is also connected with islands of Naxos, Heraclea, Schinousa, Donousa and Amorgos daily summer and winter.

Local Transportation:

Arrival by Car: It is not worth the hassle to bring your own car to the island, although it is in theory possible. Roads turn out to be little more than dirt paths. There is one in the interior, and one along the south. A Gas station has opened in 2005 so you can refill your car.

Motorbikes and mopeds are popular alternatives to cars. Especially mopeds are frequently used by local youths and can go to many places that cars cannot go - for example the twisted narrow streets of Koufonisi city. If you start a day-trip with a moped, make you sure you do soon a full tank, as gas stations are sometimes hard to find. Though helmets are not required on the streets, it might be a good idea to ask your rent-a-bike for one.

Arrival by Bus: In the summer there is a regular bus service between the village and Charakopou / Fanos, back to village and then to Porí.

Arrival by Taxi: No taxi service is available on the island.

Arrival by Bicycle: There are a couple of places to rent bicycles. Be careful if you're biking off-road as the cliffs and vegetation are fragile!

Arrival on foot: Everything is in walking distance. On foot is the main way to get around.
